The Clean Production Agreement (CPA) was launched to develop strategies to minimize the use of packaging in e-commerce and promote greater circularity in the waste generated by this industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n With the participation of 42 ecosystem actors, including UNIBAG<\/strong>, the Clean Production Agreement (APL) led by the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS)<\/strong> and Corfo’s Sustainability and Climate Change Agency (ASCC)<\/strong>, enters its implementation phase with an expected duration of 24 months.<\/p>\n The adhering business conglomerate, which ranges from e-commerce companies to packaging and logistics suppliers, is committed to working together to move towards the circularity of packaging used in e-commerce. Organizations such as FSC, PEFC, Resimple, Giro, Ecodise\u00f1o.cl, Importing and Sofofa Hub<\/strong> are also joining this initiative of national relevance.<\/p>\n The backing for this public-private alliance is significant, with the support of the Ministry of the Environment<\/strong>, the National Association of the Recycling Industry (ANIR)<\/strong>, the Chilean Packaging Center (CENEM)<\/strong>, the Plastics Industry Association (ASIPLA)<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3n Chile through the Chilean Plastics Pact<\/strong> and the Association of Sustainable Consumers of Chile (ADC Circular)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The main objective of this agreement is to generate fundamental information on the packaging used in online commerce, identifying volumes, types and destinations of shipments. In addition, it seeks to promote eco-design to reduce volume and weight, facilitate recycling and consider sustainability throughout the life cycle of packaging.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Eliana Moreno, commercial manager of UNIBAG, emphasizes that this APL represents an opportunity to promote the use of fossil plastic-free packaging in the market<\/strong>, complying with legal requirements and presenting reusable and returnable alternatives.<\/p>\n Sebasti\u00e1n Carvallo, director of the Sustainability and Climate Change Agency, stresses the importance of partnership and collaboration between ecosystem actors to effectively address <\/strong>the challenge of reducing and circularizing packaging in e-commerce.<\/p>\n Ver\u00f3nica Torres, sustainability manager of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, emphasizes the value of bringing together all industry players to develop systemic solutions <\/strong>and highlights the commitment of the participating companies to the reduction and circularization of packaging in e-commerce.<\/p>\n Among the expected benefits of the APL are the anticipation and participation in the development of public policies, effective collaboration among ecosystem actors and the positioning<\/strong> of participating companies as leaders in the promotion of circularity in the industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Clean Production Agreement (CPA) was launched to develop strategies to minimize the use of packaging in e-commerce and promote greater circularity in the waste generated by this industry.
